Palm Sunday • Alpine Chapel

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, he knew it would be just a few short days until he fought one of the most important battles of his life. Alone in a garden, Jesus would be victorious over fear, doubt, and death itself. Thousands of years later, Jesus invites us into that victory, too. But it comes at a price: his death, our life, and obedience to his command to stay awake so we can rise up and do the good work God is calling us to.

Join Alpine Chapel for Palm Sunday 2020 and listen as Lead Pastor Dave Mudd shares a message of challenge, hope, and invitation to join God on his mission in this unprecedented time.

For groups process this weekend’s message from Alpine, spend time watching the message before you meet together. After watching, use the questions below to help get the conversation going:
  • What stood out to you from the message?
  • When you think about Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, what comes to mind?
  • What do you do to stay spiritually “awake”?
  • Where do you sense God inviting you to join his mission in these times?

This guide is intended for online community groups who are meeting digitally to care for one another in this season and discuss the weekly messages from Alpine. Looking for a community? CLICK HERE.

Take a few minutes to practice generosity to Alpine Chapel by giving online. After giving, have somebody pray for generosity and provision at Alpine Chapel in this season.

To conclude your gathering, spend some time in prayer together. Begin with a few minutes in silence, listening for what God might have to say to you or to your group in this moment, then share what came to mind. After a few minutes of listening and sharing, spend time praying for:
  • Eradication of COVID-19 and healing for those who are sick
  • Followers of Jesus to be a presence of peace and love in their neighborhoods
  • Wisdom for local, state, national, and global leaders
  • Any needs in your group

In times of worry or stress, the familiar can be very comforting.  This is the current curriculum that they would use on a typical Sunday morning gathering. You can adapt this for 1-50 kids!

If you have any questions on how to use it, feel free to contact Kate Zwiefelhofer at [email protected]

In light of what’s happening in our world right now, we want to be intentional about being in the kind of community that keeps one another believing. We live like COMMUNITY IS OUR DESIGN and the only way to do that is together. While we may not be able to meet physically, there are a number of digital and video conferencing options that can help us stay connected.
Many of our online community groups use Zoom Video conferencing. You can sign up for Zoom and download the app or browser plugins at
