SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR CHURCH

Alpine Stitchers

Alpine Stitchers is a group of women that meets every Thursday morning at Alpine Chapel to knit, crochet, and have a great time of fellowship, encouragement, and prayer. New members are always welcome. No experience necessary – we can teach you anything you need to know. Projects made by the Alpine Stitchers are donated to those in need. For more information, complete the volunteer form HERE.

Benevolence

There may be difficult times in life – job loss, medical bills, or family crisis – when a little help is needed to make ends meet.  At Alpine Chapel, we help care for each other during these times through our benevolence fund, a resource used to support families who find themselves in crisis.  If you would like to give, click HERE.  If you find yourself in a crisis situation, call the office a 847-540-8280 or email outreach@alpinechapel.org

Buddy Break

Buddy Break is a free 3-hour respite program where kids with special needs (ages 2 – 16) and their siblings (ages 4 – 5th grade) come to make new friends, play games, do crafts, read stories, and much more while their families get a break from their caregiving responsibilities. If you have a heart for children with special needs, we’d love to have you join our team. All volunteers go through training and receive a background check. Learn more HERE.

Food Pantry

Through partnerships with local grocery stores, our food pantry provides food to over 100 families in need in our church and community every Saturday morning.  You can help in many ways, including food pick-up, pantry set-up, shopping assistance, and clean-up. This is a great family service opportunity.  If you are interested in learning more about our food pantry volunteer opportunities, please click HERE.

Take Them A Meal

Alpine’s Take Them a Meal ministry provides meals for Alpine families who could use a helping hand in a time of crisis or in a joyful situation like the birth of a baby. The team is notified when there is a need, and a customized meal sign-up sheet is sent out.  Not a great cook? Don’t worry- you don’t have to be a great cook to join us!  Meals can be store bought, homemade, or ordered in. To prepare meals for families in need or if you know of a family in need, complete the volunteer form HERE.

Thrive Single Moms

Thrive is a place for single moms to connect with one another on a weekly basis. Raising children on their own can bring many challenges to single moms, and sometimes a little help is needed. Opportunities to serve our single moms include providing and/or serving dinner for one of the meetings; bringing a talent, craft, or encouragement to share; providing take-home meals or services such as house cleaning, home projects, and car repair; or babysitting for free. For more information, complete the volunteer form HERE.

Touch from the Heart

Alpine Chapel’s Touch from the Heart team sends handwritten notes to those experiencing hardship. The team prays for the needs communicated through our prayer chain, and follows up with a card. They also send out grief recovery booklets to those experiencing loss, encouraging these families as they walk through their grief. For more information, complete the volunteer form HERE.
