SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY

Adopt-A-Highway

Three to four times a year, Alpine Chapel volunteers spend a Saturday morning cleaning up a designated portion of highway along Old McHenry Road. This is a great time to serve as a family, meet new people, and help clean up the community all at the same time.  Click HERE to sign up to volunteer.

Challenger Baseball

The Lake Zurich Challenger League offers boys and girls with special needs the opportunity to participate in an organized game of baseball. Challenger League provides great opportunities for youth and adults to get involved. When spring arrives, watch for more information on how you can get involved or complete the volunteer form HERE.

CERT

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a regional team of individuals from Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, and Long Grove. The team is designed to aid our community emergency personnel in situations where emergency services are already stretched beyond initial capabilities. As a member of this team, you would be trained in personal preparedness, search and rescue, first aid, etc.  If you are interested, please click HERE.

Lake Zurich Triathlon

The Lake Zurich Triathlon takes place in July and is one of the area’s top Olympic distance events, having grown to over 1,000 participants. There is always a need for volunteers, and this is a great opportunity to serve our community. Opportunities for individuals or families include checking in participants, cheering the participants on throughout the bike course or run course, directing the swimmers on the lake, or serving food to volunteers and participants.

Love INC Lake County SW

Love INC (Love In The Name Of Christ) brings together the resources of local churches, businesses, and agencies to best help those in need in our local community. By entering into personal relationships with individuals and families, Love INC helps to find employment, housing, and furniture, while also giving financial, personal, and spiritual guidance. They provide very few giveaways, but rather help those in need learn to help themselves. Volunteer opportunities include answering phones, delivering Household Starter Kits, picking up and delivering furniture, making home repairs, and much more. Click HERE to volunteer.

Safe Families

Safe Families for Children provides host families for vulnerable children and creates extended family-like support for desperate families going through crisis. This is done through a community of devoted volunteers motivated by compassion to keep children safe and, ultimately, back together with their families. To learn more about the many ways to be involved in this ministry, complete the volunteer form HERE. Training is provided.

Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones Network is a ministry that was formed to educate and engage the Lake County and Chicagoland community to prevent commercial sexual exploitation and to provide comprehensive, restorative care and housing to survivors.  If you have a heart for this issue, we want to meet you and help you find the best place to plug in and make a difference. For more information, please visit the Stepping Stone website HERE or to volunteer please click HERE.
