Spirit Led Pt. 2 • Alpine Chapel
There are only two types of desires that we experience in life: those that come from the Holy Spirit and those that don’t. When we follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit gives us new desires that we still have the choice to act on or not. These Holy Spirit desires always take the shape of the answer to this question: what does love require?
Check out Part Five of Alpine Chapel’s series on Community DNA and listen as Lead Pastor Dave Mudd invites us to ask ourselves the question “what does love require?” until it’s no longer a question: it’s a way of life.

TEACHING & DISCUSSION (45 MINUTES)

For groups process this weekend’s message from Alpine, spend time watching the message before you meet together. After watching, use the questions below to help get the conversation going:
  • Have a little fun first! As a group, name as many songs as you can that have the word “Love” in the title.
  • Take time to read Galatians 5:13-26 together as a group. What stands out to you from what you read?
  • As a group, talk about situations you’re in where you want to be spirit-led. Don’t try to fix each other’s problems or tell each other what to do. Simply ask God to show each person what love requires of them in that situation.

This guide is intended for online community groups who are meeting digitally to care for one another in this season and discuss the weekly messages from Alpine. Looking for a community? CLICK HERE.

GIVING (2 MINUTES)

Take a few minutes to practice generosity to Alpine Chapel by giving online. After giving, have somebody pray for generosity and provision at Alpine Chapel in this season.
GIVE ONLINE

PRAYER (30 MINUTES)

To conclude your gathering, spend some time in prayer together. Begin with a few minutes in silence, listening for what God might have to say to you or to your group in this moment, then share what came to mind. After a few minutes of listening and sharing, spend time praying for:
  • Eradication of COVID-19 and healing for those who are sick
  • Followers of Jesus to be a presence of peace and love in their neighborhoods
  • Wisdom for local, state, national, and global leaders
  • Any needs in your group

RESOURCES FOR USING ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCING

In light of what’s happening in our world right now, we want to be intentional about being in the kind of community that keeps one another believing. We live like COMMUNITY IS OUR DESIGN and the only way to do that is together. While we may not be able to meet physically, there are a number of digital and video conferencing options that can help us stay connected.
Many of our online community groups use Zoom Video conferencing. You can sign up for Zoom and download the app or browser plugins at  https://zoom.us/download.
