Why We Need Each Other • Alpine Chapel
Jesus is the one who changes and grows us, but more often than not he uses people to bring that growth about. In biblical community, we are for one another what Jesus was for his disciples: a powerful force of invitation and challenge that helps us become the people God created us to be.
Join Alpine Chapel for a timely series all about community, beginning with a message called, “Why We Need Each Other”. Listen as Lead Pastor Dave Mudd shares a story about what invitation and challenge can do in someone’s life, followed by a teaching on how we see this relationship between Jesus and Peter.

For groups process this weekend’s message from Alpine, spend time watching the message before you meet together. After watching, use the questions below to help get the conversation going:
  • Which would you say comes more naturally to you in relationships: invitation or challenge?
  • When you think about someone who has balanced invitation and challenge in your life, who comes to mind?
  • When was a time that someone challenged you in relationship and you were thankful for it?
  • What stood out to you from today’s message?
  • As we begin this new series, take time to pray with your community that you would become more of what God intended your community to be: a group of people living with and like Jesus together.

This guide is intended for online community groups who are meeting digitally to care for one another in this season and discuss the weekly messages from Alpine. Looking for a community? CLICK HERE.

Take a few minutes to practice generosity to Alpine Chapel by giving online. After giving, have somebody pray for generosity and provision at Alpine Chapel in this season.

To conclude your gathering, spend some time in prayer together. Begin with a few minutes in silence, listening for what God might have to say to you or to your group in this moment, then share what came to mind. After a few minutes of listening and sharing, spend time praying for:
  • Eradication of COVID-19 and healing for those who are sick
  • Followers of Jesus to be a presence of peace and love in their neighborhoods
  • Wisdom for local, state, national, and global leaders
  • Any needs in your group

In light of what’s happening in our world right now, we want to be intentional about being in the kind of community that keeps one another believing. We live like COMMUNITY IS OUR DESIGN and the only way to do that is together. While we may not be able to meet physically, there are a number of digital and video conferencing options that can help us stay connected.
Many of our online community groups use Zoom Video conferencing. You can sign up for Zoom and download the app or browser plugins at  https://zoom.us/download.
