Renew at Night is a community of women who study and walk in God’s Word together. Our vision is for women to grow deeper in their love for God and for others by beholding Him in His Word. Whether you are a seasoned believer or are just beginning your faith journey, we invite you to be transformed by Jesus through small group Bible study, prayer, and intentional relationships with a group of kind, authentic women.
Kick off night on Monday, 1/13 and we will have our last night on Monday, 4/27. (we’ll be off for the following Monday evenings: 1/20 – MLK Jr Day, 2/17 – President’s Day, 3/23 – Spring Break, 4/12 – Easter.)
“Exploring the Words of Jesus” will be a bible study focused on the spoken words of Jesus through the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), Acts and Revelation. As we extract what Jesus said, without neglecting the audience and context within which he spoke, we will explore his parables, reoccurring themes, and his approaches to various audiences, from the temple leaders and the crowds to his disciples. We will follow his life from a young boy to a rabbi teaching the crowds, in what is now known as The Sermon on the Mount, to the apparent end of his ministry on the cross. We will then join the disciples in wonder upon his return and hear his final words, which bring it all together from the old testament’s teachings being fulfilled through his death and resurrection and what this means for the entire world, as noted in the book of Acts and Revelation. Jesus’ timeless words to his followers will help us to gain a better understanding of his heart and mission and what that means to us today. No purchase necessary. Bring your Bible and a journal.
“The Book of Philippians” by RightNow Media with Jo Saxton
The life Jesus invites us into when we follow him is one of sacrifice. But does sacrificial living mean the Christian life should be riddled with sorrow? Paul answers that question in his letter to the Philippians with a resounding no. Paul, and the Philippians with him, lived joyfully in the midst of persecution, prison, and poverty. In this eight-session series, Jo Saxton takes us through Philippians to encourage us to follow Jesus no matter what life throws at us. Through Paul’s words and example, learn how joy and sacrifice can go hand-in-hand.
